We are delighted to welcome pianist Rachel Breen back to the Chamber Music Society of Sacramento for a concert of musical discovery and Romantic brilliance. Rachel opens the program with a Collage of Solo Works for Piano—a personally curated selection of pieces to be announced from the stage, offering an element of surprise and a glimpse into her artistic imagination.
The program culminates in Johannes Brahms’s magnificent Piano Quartet No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 25, a work of sweeping emotion, lyrical beauty, and irresistible rhythmic energy. From its intimate, introspective moments to its exhilarating Hungarian-inspired finale, Brahms’s quartet brings piano and strings together in a thrilling musical conversation.
